Adding a row to calculate Sum/Average for group

Hi,

I understand how to assign students to groups and sort etc and how to add a row at the bottom to find sum/average of the column. I wish to have sum/average for individual groups and whole class in my gradebook. Is it possible? if yes, how? Please help

I add a column/calculation to figure out the average for each student, then add the average at the bottom for that column

I do this for individual projects/tabs then link these final average columns onto a separate summary tab

@Mathsbuzz I guess you've found this already but here is how to calculate an average for the whole group.



These column calculations take into account the whole group but if you apply the filter (funnel on top) it will automatically show the result for the filtered students.

Is filter the only way? Is there now way I can have a permanent row in-between for each of the groups doing calculations just as you can have columns say doing calculations for each moth and then a summary at the end?

I'm afraid not. You can only add those calculations for the whole column in the last row
