How do you pronounce iDoceo and what does it mean?
We're not picky on pronunciation but this is what we had in mind with iDoceo.
The ubiquitous "i" needs no explanation! , and "Doceo" is the Latin verb for Teach. Thus, "I teach".

The edit direction option works in any direction: up, down, left, right or none. You can change it when editing a cell > click on the arrow.

Where is my data stored?
All your data is locally stored in the device you are using iDoceo, be it your iPad, Mac or iPhone, and nowhere else.
We do care about the privacy, security and confidentiality of data.

How do I backup iDoceo's data?
There are two ways you can do a backup of your data in iDoceo. Do the first method if it is your first time doing it, as with it you set the necessesary settings to use the second method onwards if desired.

From iDoceo's Main menu > Settings > Backups & Restore > Manual Backup. There you can choose the password for the Backup and the location where you want to store it.

From iDoceo's Menu bar (bottom), cloud icon button > Backup or Quick backup. It will store the backup in your default location and with the chosen password.
When you make a backup through the first method, you will always make a full backup, safeguarding all your data.
How can I change a column's position?
Tap and hold on that column's header and drag it to the desired position.
You may also do it on Tools (the Hammer icon) on the upper-right corner of the gradebook view > Columns & Categories. Here you can move columns in bulk as well.

Can I directly go to a class's gradebook view from the planner?
Yes, tap & hold on Planner's class and then select 'Open class'.
How do I show the same column in a different tab?
Tap&Hold on the original column > COPY > select the tab where you want to copy the column > LINKED COPY. This will represent the same column in a different tab and you'll be able to edit its contents anywhere. More details here.

You can show a column from another class using a formula in the destination class.
Any changes made in the original column would be transfered to the others, but not the other way around. More details here.

Are files stored locally or as a link?
All files are stored locally in iDoceo, meaning that they will be available offline. The only exception being youtube videos which are stored as a link.
You can see all the files in iDoceo (Including youtube videos) in Main Menu > Resources.

Can I add files from Google Drive instead of Dropbox?
Files can be added from any other app on your iPad or iPhone. Tap on the file in question and 'Open in' iDoceo.
You can also use the Apple's Files App from iDoceo to access local files on your iPad or iPhone, or those found in iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, among other apps that it allows.
To do this, in the Add Resource option from iDoceo > select add cloud file. It will take you to the Files app, select Browse (upper-left corner) and in the Browse Menu you can go to where you have saved the resource you are looking for.

In the case of your Mac, you can use the Open with option directly from the file , you can drag & drop the file to the desired location or you can use the add resource option > Add cloud file. It will take you to Finder where you can navigate and choose any file in your Mac.
How can I set Sunday as the first day of the week?
This is a system wide setting, meaning your device's settings, and it is configured from the iPad or iPhone's Settings > General > Language & Region > Region. Sunday will be configured in the all the calendars, including iDoceo's, according to this regional setting.
As a reference, the default calendar app in your iPad uses this setting as well. For example, setting US as Region format will make Sunday the first day of the week.

I'd like to show a thumbnail photo of the student next to their names. How can I do that?
You must activate it from Options > Student thumbnail
How can I configure vertical headers as shown in the provided sample class?
Text orientation on grade book headers depends on each column's height and width.
If the height is larger than the width, then it is drawn vertically, if not,horizontally.

How can I add an average or sum below a column in the gradebook?
Tap on the first available row (i.e. without student) in the gradebook and choose the calculation you'd like to add.
How can I show more text in the planner's PDF report?
First, select PDF (Equal rows), and when you scroll down below the part where you choose the dates to include in the report, you will see the options to change the page and text size.
If you are printing in A3, use x2. Do not exceed x2 unless you do not need a hard copy and will only work with a PDF.

How do I change the sender account for the emails send from iDoceo?
Sending emails is managed by the Mail app of the device you are using, be it iPad, iPhone or Mac.
In iOS13 and higher you must go to the iPad or iPhone Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add the accounts you need.
To select the account that will be used by default in Mail to send emails, and therefore in iDoceo, you must choose it in your iPhone/iPad Settings > Mail > Default account.
