Truncated names

I like to denote an international student's name as such in iDoceo -- tagged with the English name.
Niu, Tian (William)

But when this name is displayed everywhere in Doceo, the trailing parenthesis is always dropped. Seems to happen with all such students.

Same goes for square bracket and curly bracket usage.

Why?
