Student exists in multiple classes was created by Ben_E
Hi,

I have an odd situation where I have the same class twice for two different subjects (a science and an extend essay project). Does the student information share between the two groups? I am thinking primarily for parents evening, when I want to be able to call up the student summary and have it show the pertinent information for both groups that the student exists in, to save me from having to change groups and relocate the student in front of parents etc. Also, it will make it easier when writing my reports. There's obviously some unique metadata assigned to each student (the ID number from the school system for example) that could be used for this, but is it, and if so how do I expose that funcitonality?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Ben_E,
Each class and student is isolated from the rest but you can transfer a selection of columns or their personal data from one to another. It isn't an automatic process yet.

In order to transfer personal data from one class (source) to the other:
Tap on Tools (top bar) > Students > All > Copy > Select now the target class
This will transfer their personal details and photos. Make sure names match in both classes, that is the only requirement.

In order to transfer a column(s)
Tap on Tools (top bar) > Columns > Select > Copy > Target class

By default, annotations and resources are not copied but you can change this here:
Tap and hold on any header > Copy > Enable the checkbox 'Copy annotations'
