Importing classes alphabetically was created by Sam
Hi
I have imported all 20 of my classess successfullly but unfortuantely as the first column in the spreadsheet was the first name they are organised in Idoceo in Alphabetical order by their first name rather than surname. Is there a way to change this to be sorted by surname (which is now the 2nd colum in an Idoceo class)?
I am trying to avoid having to redo the csv files and start from scratch!
thanks

Hi Sam,
You can sort again the students in a class by doing a tap&hold on the student names header, then Sort.
Here you can choose to sort by either the student name or a column , so you could select the column holding the actual student's surname.
Cheers
PS: You'll always find additional options in a cell/header/item with a tap&hold !

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work at all. I can see the sort option by holding on the class name header (green) and I can select the column headed surname that I want to sort by, but when I click done nothing happens...any other way I can do this apart from resorting the csv file and importing again?
thanks
thanks

I am having the same issue. When attempting to sort a column that has text, it does not alphabetize them. I successfully sorted a column with numbers, but when sorting a column with names, nothing happens.

Hi Brooke,
In our current version 2.5 the sort by a column feature will only works with a grade type, or a numerical value as a 'ranking' function.
Late today or tomorrow, iDoceo 3.0 will be available and it will sort alphabetically as well.
On the other hand, when importing students, name and last name should be in the same column so that both belong to the student's personal data and not to a column in the grade book.
