iDoceo update problem was created by JP
I updated the app to the latest version on my iPad 3, and set up my calendar in full-screen mode, so far so good - love the new capabilities and integration with iCal.

After adding and changing a few appointments to my existing iCal calendar via iPhone and syncing with iCloud, the changes were not being reflected on my iPad, which was odd. The timewheel icon was spinning endlessly, but was not syncing.

I then tried to use Mail and Safari on the iPad, and found that the link was broken - it simply spits me out of either app and I find myself back to my default screen with app icons.

Then I had the bright idea of deleting the iDoceo app, thinking that perhaps re-loading it might fix the problem. As it turns out, I cannot access the AppStore either...!

In short, the Mail, Safari and AppStore apps no longer work, and my iCal no longer syncs between devices. This is the first such problem I've ever encountered in the few years I've owned this iPad.

Updating iDoceo is the only variable in the equation. I can access the Internet only via 3rd-party apps (amazon, google, etc...). Also, the ipad is eating battery time at an aggressively fast rate.

Any suggestions are most appreciated!

That's really weird JP. Rest assured iDoceo has nothing to do with it

It seems most likely a problem with your Apple ID, or the logged in account, which is what holds your different devices/apps in sync together.

The interaction between iDoceo and iCal calendars and its integration follows the strict policies of Apple's API guidelines.

I just realised I posted this in the wrong section - sorry about that. Please feel free to move it wherever it belongs (or delete if you prefer to discuss via email!).

The problem does indeed appear to be related to iDoceo's integration with iCal, as it was immediately after updating to Rev 3.5 and changing over to full-screen option when the problems started. My Apple account is fine, and I can access, sync and share between all devices EXCEPT for the iPad.

As I stated before, the only variable is the updating to the new version of iDoceo, and the selection of full-screen mode as an option. IMHO, the coincidence is too great.

If you'd prefer to follow up via email, please let me know. I am very impressed with your product, and am relying on it for some of my teaching/planning activities, and hope to resolve this issue. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi JP,
I'd focus on the symptom on not being able to access the AppStore.
The very first thing to try before going any further, is simply restarting your iPad by pressing both the home and top buttons simultaneously for a few seconds until the restart message appears.
After that, try to access the app store again to see if there are any changes.

A short tech note aside:
All the apps in your iPad including iDoceo are deployed on a sandboxed environment per app. Which means that whatever we do from iDoceo, even if wrong, it won't affect the rest of your iPad or the system.
We have no access to your Apple ID, mail configuration, or any other personal information regarding the App store. This imposes sometimes, limitations to us developers, when trying to offer glamurous options, but on the other hand it gives absolute peace of mind when downloading an app from the store.

Do not hesitate to post at support@idoceo.net with your findings and I'll gladly give you further advise.

Regards

Thank you for following up so quickly - I do appreciate it.

I did reset my iPad a number of times after the problem occurred, as you suggest above, but it didn't resolve the problem.

To be clear - my Apple account, email, Appstore, etc.. are working perfectly between all of my other devices (2 iMacs, a MacBook Air, and an iPhone 5. I have 100% access to each app's functionality, and all devices are syncing perfectly as usual.

The ONLY device no longer working nicely within the Apple playground is the iPad 3 on which I loaded iDoceo. It has never given me problems before, and I do use it heavily.

The next step that occurs to me is to reload iDoceo on my iPad via an iTunes wired sync from my iMac, and see if that resolves it (first day back at school, and cannot try this until I return home this evening...).

If that doesn't work, then I suppose I'll have to factory re-set my iPad and reload everything via iTunes wired sync.

If you can think of any thing less drastic, please let me know.

On the positive side, I have backups of all data and apps (iCloud and hard drive), and iDoceo's data is backed up on both my Dropbox and GoogleDive accounts, so my work shouldn't evaporate (nice job on the new backup features, btw!).

But does the app store open when you tap on it? Or it crashes?
From your iPad Settings / iTunes/App stores, try logging out and back in.

If nothing else works, you may have to try restoring with a factor reset. I'd do an iCloud backup (from iPad settings/iCloud/Backup) to have at least two different copies with two systems.

It crashes on the iPad. The problem is with the iPad. All other devices are working fine across all apps, including the app store. It seems as though all iCloud-related /connected apps have been affected, but only on the iPad. Weird...

I do have a full backup of my iPad data and apps on iCloud as well as on my iMac´s hard drive, so it sounds as though the full restore factory re-set is the way to go at this point.

The issue seems to be resolved, after re-setting the iPad to factory settings and re-loading it via iTunes sync.

Thanks for your help and responsiveness, Bert which certainly helps to set iDoceo apart from many potential competitors with little/no customer support. Olé!
