Ok that view is a bit better, but the text part still only takes half of the iPad screen size, what I would like is to have a view where you have like only the stuff you wrote down and the attachments to click on.bert wrote: -We'll see what we can do about that view. If you tap&hold on the planner's period you'll go to that specific class, and then the 'Single day' day view in the diary would allow you to add more texts. Noted the request though to avoid all these steps.

I agree with CAReynolds. It would be really nice to have a search option that will find which class has which student. At the beginning of the year, I can't even remember which grade level they belong in, let alone which class.
Another thought I have is the ability to reassign a student to another class. I have 362 students and about 300 of them will be the same next year. If I can just reassign them, I won't have to redo pictures and everything since we don't get their new pictures until about Nov. This may not be feasible, but it's something to think about.
And I already mentioned to you, but I'll put it here as well, I would love to be able to make a template for an assignment that is used daily or in multiple classes or in both. For instance, I'd like to be able to add a participation grade daily to every class in a similar manner as doing the attendance. Set up the way you want it once and then add it in an instant whenever you need it (with the current date).

@Nenuial Once in the single day view, you'll find the option , next to the paper clip, to hide the rest of classes and focus only on the current one in full screen
@Pat noted! I'm pretty sure we've been discussing this by e-mail. Is that you?
@CAReynolds and @BethJahn I think you're both missing the 'Search' button on the main screen. This will look for any student, in any class. Tap on it, and it will bring their grade book on screen, with a filter set (on top bar), to focus only on that student.
@CAReynolds you can increase the size of the default face recognition frame, from the Main screen / Settings / Seating plan / Face recognition offset, try with 20 and let me know how that works for you.
Noted your request on the icons. The icons list is slowly increasing and we need to add new approaches to the icon selection, other than the Quick Editor.
@BethJahn Yup, got that template request.

Let me start by saying that iDoceo was the main reason I wanted to get an iPad, and this release cements it as my number 1 app.
Here are the only things I see a potential issue with:
- I agree with @Pat that specialists teachers (music, pe, art, etc.) may have more than 12 periods (especially at the elementary level). While this year's schedule allows for me to just barely squeeze all my classes in, it would be nice in future years to have the option for more than 12 periods.
- I love the new calendar view, but when entering holidays, I have not found a way to undo a holiday when I make a mistake and assigned one to the wrong day. The only thing I was able to do was erase all holidays and start again. This is very frustrating when you have a ton of holidays to input and you mess up on one of the last ones.
I've been playing with the new release for 2 days now, and that's the only 2 things I've noticed so far. Thanks for the awesome update!

Ah. Yes, I was missing the search feature on the main screen. Thank you for pointing it out. I had only seen the one within the classes.

Ok I see why you don't understand what I talk about. I have some days where I only have one period, then there is no other period to hide and in that precise case the event part takes up a lot of space (even when there are no events to show...). Also I quite often use the landscape mode and there events take up half the page, for me it's a waste of useful space. Maybe an option to hide the events panel? (And now I'm sure you are going to tell me this is already possible and I have missed it)!

Thanks, Bert! I did miss the search button. It does exactly what I need. Warning to others though, I didn't realize that the filter held throughout the problem, so when I went into another class, I thought I lost everything! LOL. removing the filter took care of the problem!
And thanks for the tip on the Face Detection. I may have to change it to adjust for each photo (some were taken closer than others), but this will do the trick. If you have control over this, it would be really cool if there were an option when you are in the face detection mode to adjust the boxes right from the photo.
Thanks again for a great app. (BTW - I used to be a software designer in my other life, and I bought a Mac this summer so I could learn to write my own app because I was so frustrated... looks like I didn't need that Mac after all - you've covered so much of what I was going to do!) Bravo!

I am a home school mom. I currently teach 2 kids with 2 different grades. I would love to have more than one planner so that I could plan for each child. But I love the app so far.
I don't mind the lunch being a part of a period in the planner because I can plan out our actual lunches.
Also would like to have the app notify me of period changes kind of like a bell rings between classes. Right now I use a cuckoo clock app.
Also alerts for due dates would be nice. I don't know maybe the app does these things. I am new to app. I just purchased it this weekend.

Another "bug" I have noticed:
In the week and daily view the bold and italic formatting applied elsewhere does not stick. Colors and underline do but not the bold and italic formatting. Also if you change the formatting in the day or week view it will change the size of the font (it gets smaller).
Another request:
It would be nice to have an export or mail to self option for the student report. Currently (unless I did not find the trick) we just have to possibility to send to student, parent or both. But I would find it useful to have a pdf that I could print out and hand out to the students.

I may be different than a lot of people, but I really, REALLY would like to have a downloadable user guide available. It is really annoying to have a topic mentioned in the the "how to" without detail, and then have to sift through the forums for possible answers. I'd like a guide with an index, please.
Thanks!
Thanks!
