Trouble importing from Dropbox (solved) was created by Sarahe999
Hi Bert
I thought I'd have a trial run at importing data and use the cvs file here on the web site. Unfortunately Dropbox isn't giving me idoceo as an option. I've tried uninstalling it and un-linking - still no idoceo option.
HELP PLEASE

Hi Sarahe999,

This option applies to iDoceo 2.0 which should be available any time soon (today, or tomorrow tops). Sorry for the confusion. The CSV file does include some columns which will not be imported as personal data because of the current version.

In version 1.7 which is the one available in the app store, the import procedure is slightly different:
- First, the CSV file should be stored in Dropbox , under the Apps folder ,and then iDoceo . So the complete path would be Apps/iDoceo/sample.csv
- Second: create a class from the chalkboard screen
- Then tap&hold on this new class , and tap on IMPORT, after this tap on Import File and select the sample CSV file.

This is the old method and we've made it a lot easier with this upcoming release, but you can try it anyway.

If you get stuck , let me know, or , if you don't mind, just wait until tomorrow, when (I hope) the new version will be available. We're still waiting for the approval and the people at Apple seem to be particularly busy these days.

Thanks for contacting us.

Hi there, just downloading IDoceo myself and was also wondering the same thing, as I managed to get my classes all into the .csv format and had put extra information in other columns. Do you have any info on when version 2.0 will be released, as I'd rather hold on to make the importing easier.

HI Matt,
Yes, if you can, I suggest you to wait, the old procedure is a bit complicated , that's why we improved it.
I can't say for sure when it will be available, we submitted 10 days ago the update and the review time is around 8-12 days , but it changes depending on the number of submissions.
I've just requested an expedite review, hope they can find the time to do it and we won't have to wait much longer.

Thanks

That's fantastic Bert, thank you for the speedy reply. A colleague recommended the app today and if I have the opportunity to upload my classes easily and with the extra headings already in place when in the .csv file that will make setup a breeze. I look forward to seeing the update in the app store in the near future. Our term starts on Wednesday, so crossing my fingers for tomorrow, then I'm ready and good to go!

Matt.

Thanks Bert
I've already got it imported.
As you said it was really easy and straightforward. Looking forward to using idoceo for my grade book this year.
