Name format reconciliation was created by JasonEvens
Hi,
Is there a way of reconciling different name formats across apps.
It is easiest to give you an example.
Student lists imported from SIMS give me classes with names in the format NAME,SURNAME
(NB these come from one single column not separate columns)
I have started to use Showbie and am looking at exporting grades from here into IDoceo.
The Showbie name format is NAME SURNAME .
This means that when importing data , duplicate students are created as IDoceo does not recognise that ‘Smith,Tom’ is the same student as ‘Tom Smith’.
Am I missing a way of avoiding this issue or could this ability be added?
Thanks,
Jason

Hello Jason,
If you have a chance send us a sample file of what you’re trying to import.
IDoceo supports many file formats and automatically detects name and surname in the right position so that you can simply drag&drop the file in your gradebook.
We’ll try to add support for this one in our next update
