risk assessment was created by jerseyterrier
Hi
I have been using idoceo for about 3 years now, but my school has decided it might be a data risk and have to come up with a risk assessment for using it. Does any one else have a generic one I could use/look at otherwise I may have to stop using it, and I really don't want to.
Cheers

Hi jerseyterrier,
When a school decides that an app is a potential risk, there isn't much you can do. It is usually an excuse to ban it and they won't attend to any reasoning. No app, no risk.
iDoceo's data is locally stored in the device, no information is stored in the cloud and no one except you has access to this information. The potential risk is less than that of a traditional paper grade book since you can password protect your iPad and even remotely erase its data.
If a school is concerned about a potential data loss, they enable a local WebDAV server so that all their teachers can store their backups.

I know, I think they were worried about the iCloud backups, surely Apple will be quite good at keeping data safe. It's not military grade information just their mark book and a photo.
I am not giving it up without a fight, there is always other schools but only one idoceo
