Double Lessons and the planner/calendar was created by ArtyAimee
I've been using iDoceo for a year now and have loved it so much that I've managed to convert a few other teachers in my school to using it too.

The only issue I have with the app is the fact that I have quite a few double lessons which affects the structure of my planner... E.g. My art class will be seen in period 1 & period 2 and my textiles class will be seen period 3 & period 4.

I understand that I can configure the period times in the calendar to be unique for each class - but doing this means that my planner is out of sync with the periods of the day. E.g. My art class will be in period one and my textiles class will be in period 2!

The only way around this is If I stick to the periods of the day by entering the same class twice (one directly after the other) - but this has consequences for my planning as I don't want to repeat lesson plans and now that the new 'bump' feature is here (genius) this will also be a problem.

Is it possible to configure the calendar so that a double lesson will show up across two periods without having to enter the same class twice and so that the planner actually looks like my schedule? To make matters more complicated I do also teach single lessons and so I would like to be able to switch between the two different formats.

Thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat and I haven't found a clever solution to this. So I have set up my maximum number of period as the maximum number of lesson I teach on my heaviest day which is 5 (but really it's a 9 period timetable) and then adjust the timing according to my lesson.
This means that P1&2 are my 1st lesson, P3&4 my 2nd lesson and so on. If I have a single I also count it as one and the same goes for a triple...
I'd be happy for a better solution but in the meantime, this is how I do it.

Hello docLaskew,
Double lessons are possible in iDoceo but each lesson will take a period as ArtyAimee explains in her original post. I'm not sure if we will be able to improve this in the near future.
The workaround Emilie proposes in his post is the best approach. Additionally, in the current version, the Period names can be edited (from Settings > Planner option) so that Period names match your actual periods, you could write something in the form of Period 1a or Period 1b for double periods for example.

Dear bert,

Thanks for your prompt reply. The high volume of activity on this forum is one of the reasons to switch to this app--it is well-supported.

I have worked around as suggested by above members.

It will be lovely to have this functionality in future so this part keeps up with the rest of the high standards of the other parts in the app. I've taken the leap, abandoned my previous markbook, and will be using iDoceo for the rest of the year. Should be interesting!!

All best,

Leslie

I agree, fully supported double periods would be an excellent addition. I teach both singles and doubles and my planner looks untidy; the workaround just doesn't cut the mustard :(

I Still love the app though

I have been inspired by artyaimee to use this software and therefore have the same problems re double lessons. I have set up my lessons as singles and so a double goes over two periods. However when I came to export them as PDFs using the tabs at the bottom, it only exported the first lesson in the day, not both. Help!

Hello Wendy,
From the diary view (tabs at the bottom) > Tap on the gear icon on top and make sure the week configuration states 'Week configuration depends on calendar'
