For some reason I am now not able to transfer/ import my class list from neither numbers nor directly from my email which is in edexcell format... I also sent you a mail in this regard. Any suggestions?

This was due to a bug in the previous release of Numbers for iOS7 which exported their XLS files in ZIP.
They've now solved it but the generated file format is XLSX instead. So you should export as CSV
We'll add support for XLSX files in our next update
