It isn't possible in the current version but we'll try to add some direct connectivity with SIMS in a future release.
Meanwhile, our next update will offer many to options to import photos in bulk.

There is a way to do this but it's clunky.
1) Print the class photo from SIMS but make sure you select "Print to file".
2) Locate that file and then e-mail it to yourself.
3) Open the mail app on your ipad and look at the photo.
4) Zoom right in on each student and take a screenshot on your ipad. Repeat for each student in the class so you have about 30 individual photos.
5) Open idoceo, go to your class and edit each individual student to include the relevant photo.

Thanks a lot for the tip steveinfinity,
Our next update will include the face recognition feature to isolate individual students from a single image so I guess that the most cumbersome task will be a lot easier!

If you create a report and then export it from SIMS as a rich text document, individual images can be easily selected and saved from the word document.
On a mac, you can copy the image to clipboard in a word processing program such as Pages, then switch to the Preview app and click file - new from clipboard. Obviously these photos need transfering to your iPad which is a hassle.
I tend to take my own photos, which sync to my old ipad 1 via photostream!
