Cell avg convert to grade was created by Anonymous
Hello,

I am having difficulty figuring out how to do a calculation and I was hoping to receive some help.

I want to:

enter a number, have Idoceo calculate the percentage based on how many marks the test is out of. After this, create a letter grade - and only show the letter grade.

EG:

a student scores 18/20 on a test. I want to enter 18 in the cell, have it calculate that its 90% and just spit back an A grade.

Is this possible.

Thanks in advance. I love the software.

Hi there,
Yes, it is possible. Shouldn't be too difficult to explain, here the steps:

- First we'll create the test column, which will hold scores from 0 to 20. Add a description (in our example is Test) , and in Grade Type , select From 0 to 20

- Second, you must add a calculation column, its editor must be Calculation and its grade type must be 'Text grades from A to F' . After this column has been created, double tap on a cell of it and configure the calculation so that it takes the 100% of the test column. This is done with a simple tap on the 'Test' header.

Now you'll get the grades automatically as you type scores. You can change the predefined value of each grade from the chalkboard screen, then 'Grade Types' and edit the 'Text grades A to F' configuration.

If there is something not clear enough, please let me know in which step you're in.
I've attached detailed step by step images below.

Kind regards

Does this mean that whenever you have a test that does not have say 20 marks each time - then you will need to create a new grade type for however many the test is out of?
