The absolute killerfeature is the posibility to make a backup.

			Welcome back Lehrer,
Yes, the backup/restore feature is scheduled.
When we where preparing iDoceo we had very present that information could never be lost. There is an automatic backup of all the information every time you start iDoceo (from completely closed/not only minimized).
What's missing is a restore option. When everything was planned, iOS5 came out, and the alternative of iCloud presented new possibilites for backup/restore. Because of transition from iOS4 to iOS5 , we couldn't target iCloud prepared devices only so everything went on hold.
As an imperfect alternative for the moment you have the option of backing up with iTunes or exporting PDFs for archiving purposes (I know... I said 'imperfect')
Your concerns are ours as well and I think the best solution and the one that will offer real peace of mind to our users will still be the old fashioned backup to a file somewhere else (probably dropbox or some file sharing app) , and then be able to restore from a file.
I'll keep everyone posted on our next release's news
Thanks
