Love the recent update. I would love to see an extension of the diary to a unit planner linked to the assessment and attendance functions. I'd like to be able to create unit plans and daily plans with a bit more detail than just a diary entry. There really isn't an app that I have found that can do this well and is integrated with a grade book and attendance.

I love the usability of the app though

Hi Gary,
A planner is in our road map but for this upcoming release we're focusing on taking some of the existing features to the next level (hence the 2.0), there will be lots of new things (like audio&photos) on the diary,a second timetable, seating plan and improved attendance functions, we hope you'll find them useful.

Since the planner is still on the drawing board, if you have any ideas on the unit/daily plan requirements and looks we'd love to hear them!

Thanks for contacting us

Hi there Bert

Daily planner
For me a simple box structure that can be set from a setting menu. Common planner includes:
Aims/objectives
Learning outcomes
Introduction
Main
Conclusion
Homework assigned
Evaluation

The homework could be linked to each student in the database and to the grade book. Teacher would be able to check inthhomework the next lesson when dong the attendance.

Each of the daily plans could then be linked to a unit plan. Unit plans can last anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. Each could have upto thirty plans. Te unit planner is simply an overview of the unit with a simplified breakdown of the lessons by week and objective.

A place for extra curricular activities and meetings would normally be in the diary but should link in with the days plans

Having a welcome screen as you open the app with a calendar in the corner, date /time in top corner and a list of classes for the day with their times. You could also include on this welcome screen assignments due in and meetings from the master calendar

Thanks a lot for that detailed explanation Gary,
As we anticipated it is a huge amount of work to have a decent planner ready, lets see how it turns out in the not-too-near future.
I'll keep you posted on the planner progress.
Thanks again.

To gain the UK teachers, the planner would need to be able to show a two week timetable as most schools here use one. You would also need to have the flexibility to have 5, 6, 7 or 8 lessons a day. Putting in the term dates would be great. A planner would make this the best planner/mark book going for the growing UK market.
Thanks

Hi Jacky ,
Thanks for your comments, we'll definitely have an awesome planner in the app! We're a small team and it might take while, but we'll get there.

When entering the diary from the class list, it would be really useful to allocate the days for the class only to be displayed. For example, I have a year 7 Geography class on a tue and thu so I don't need any info for the remaining days. A year 10 RE class is on a Wednesday only, no need for mon, tue,thu and fri. It would be really helpful as you would be able to flick through remaining lessons until half term etc, rather than entire weeks.

Hi Sarah,
You can actually do it already!
Tap on the settings icon (gear) when on the diary and you'll have the enabled weekdays on screen. Just enable/disable its at will. Each class will keep its diary configuration.
