'grades from target' option was created by riverer
I have a lovely setup where each assessment ( out of 20) is converted to an average grade using GCSE grade boundaries. A* is green, and so on down to red for F.

My issue is some students are targeted an E, so if they get an E they are doing well. Others are targeted an A and an E would be a disaster.

Could we have a new type of calculation that looked at the grade system we've entered and checked it against another value (the 'students target' column in my case) and then gave you the number of grades above/bellow target the student was?

This would be extremely useful, it could then be displayed over the seating plan as a '+/- number'.

Hi riverer,
Yes, I like it. It has been somehow suggested already but in a different way. I like the idea of adding a specific calculation for that.
There is no time left to add it in this upcoming version 3.0, but we'll add it in the next one, count on it.
iDoceo 3.0 will offer additional calculations , and they can be enabled/disabled at will (from the main screen settings) so that you can hide the ones you don't need in the list and keep it shorter. This kind of comparison would probably be hidden by default, I'm a bit concerned for the new users finding way too many options from the start (probably it's already too late for that :P )
As a temporary workaround in 3.0, you could use the Addition/Substraction to compare against a target grade, give it a try as soon as the update is available and let me know how that worked for you.
We'll hopefully begin the Beta tests by the end of next month and the release shouldn't take much longer than that.
Kind regards

Hi Bert, thanks for your reply. I will do just that and post here how it works :)

Keep up the good work.
