Improvements I'd really like was created by HN
I've spent (wasted!) money on loads of teacher apps but the more I find about iDoceo the more I like. Thanks for all the improvements so far. I am ow using it as my main app BUT here are a few things I'd really like to see as at the moment I'm still flipping between several apps in a lesson (as and I'm on an original iPad, it does take a bit of time!)
1. Ability to have several seating plans linked to each class. I'm in 5 or more rooms for each class. At the moment I have this info n a different app.
2. Ability to have several pieces of info linked to each place on the seating plan. We aren't allowed to have pics of the pupils, but we are supposed to have several pieces of info (eg target grade, 'currently working at' grade, if they are EAL, special needs, gifted and talented etc. even if we could have colours for these categories (EAL, SEN etc) - that would be great.
3. Ability on seating plan to have random swap (to save me manually changing seating plan every half term)
The ones above would be my first suggestions- some other ones:
4. I have found the random selector- if there was any way to prepopulate this (hidden) so that, for example, when Billy was picked, it suggested an 'analyse' question but when Fred (who isn't as bright) is picked, it suggests a 'what' ( simple knowledge) type question. I have an app called stick picks that does this at the moment.
5. Would there be any way to link behaviour notes with names? Perhaps on the seating plan (perhaps on a drop down or rolling menu) that the teacher could customise? That would somewhere then keep a record of these (in a column on the mark sheet maybe?) Some people might use that for misbehaviour, I would probably though tend to use it for recording contributions to a lesson etc
At the moment, I have schemes of work in Goodreader and use the URL function in goodreader to link it to my diary which I have set up in the calendar that's native to the iPad. I looked at a lot of diary /calendar / teacher apps and none of them have the ability to have a 2 week timetable and to link documents to lessons in this way. I can cope with this, but if there was a way of doing that in iDoceo that would be even better.
Thanks for listening!

Welcome HN,
Thanks a lot for contacting us. Some of your suggestions are already in the works for our next major update, I'm sure you'll find them useful.

This is nice, I've just added it in our TO-DOs.Not with high priority but it will be there.
Thanks again, your feedback is highly appreciated

Yes ,absolutely. We where not sure about the number of seating plans to be allowed... we'll try with 5 hope this will suffice ...1. Ability to have several seating plans
Yep, we're working on it too. We thought that being able to view a single field (as you can do now) would be useful ... but we definitely will have to add more.2. Ability to have several pieces of info linked to each place on the seating plan

Interesting too, noted. It will probe a bit difficult to implement with the current configuration, we'll have it in mind though.4. Random selector enhancements
I think you should be able to configure a grade for that purpose, and then assign it from the mark sheet (you'll be able to add/edit data from the seating plan too in our next update). Here some info about this . Tell me if I missed something ...5. behaviour notes with names
Yep, this will be there too, it is a long awaited feature and it will be available along all the app . You'll be able to add URLs as well as any kind of document (PDFs,XLS,Word) in the diary/cells/students and headers.link documents to lessons
Thanks again, your feedback is highly appreciated

I think that the multiple seating plan is an excellent idea. I teach 1 class in 5 (yes 5) different rooms, each with different desk layouts (I didn't know desks could be moved into that many configurations). And given that they are a young group of year 7s, they generally forget where their seats are. Not to mention their teacher!
Thank your for this.
Thank your for this.

Hello,
When you are looking at the class data spreadsheet it would be fantastic if you double tap the name and isolate just that pupils data so you can talk through their data with them and not have them viewing other students data.
Also with the seating plan when you select a pupil and look at their class photo if the pupil data is shown then it makes it very easy to view their progress towards their targets and highlight it to other teachers.

Hi Lauren,
You can isolate a student or a group if you apply the students filter on the top bar, simply type your student name or lastname and the rest of students will be hidden.
About the seating plan info, you can actually view a summary of each student's progress from this view , but there will be some improvements related to this in our next update. I'm sure you'll find them useful.
Thanks
