Attendance from seating plan: Changes to behavior in update

Hello,

I have used the seating chart to take attendance for a while now. In a recent update the behaviour for registering attendance changed. It used to be that tapping or clicking a student changed the state of the students attendance (Nothing - Present - Absent). However, now tapping brings up a selection popover. 

Is there any way to bring back the old behaviour? The popover is much worse and makes taking attendance harder, more work, and creates more errors.

If not, it would be great if this were an option in future updates.
