Help! How can I grade from the Seating Plan?

I have a huge class and they sit in rows (choir of 66+ kids). I have always been able to use my seating plan to assign icons to students (other than present/absent/tardy, etc).

For example, while on seating plan I could toggle to my grade book column of "Using Music" and those words would show up at the bottom. Then, if I held my finger on a student picture, icon options would pop up. Any icons I chose would then appear both on the picture in seating plan and in grade book under that column.

I've updated my iPad and now that option seems to have disappeared!!! This is disastrous for me because it's one of the primary ways I use to assess students. HELP! I'm sure (at least, hoping) that I'm just missing something here.

This one small change has literally made this app useless for me. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Tap on the COLUMN button on the seating plan to edit a particular column or ADD COLUMN to add a new one
