How to guides? was created by purplepossum
Hi Bert,
Congratulations on the new update!!! This app just keeps getting better and better!! Well done
It looks as though the new update has brought lots of great features, but how do we implement some of them? For example... is there a how to guide on:
- how to import student photos in bulk
- how to import templates
- how to import classes via email
Also, where can we access the templates that other people create? Will there be a special section on the webpage or the forum for this?
Thanks again,
Katie

Very glad you liked it Katie.
You're the main inspiration for those templates, so you'd better use them now!
We're still updating the web, but because we're receiving a huge amount of e-mails and requests at the same time it is being difficult to keep up with everything. There'll be video tutorials and proper how to guides on every single new feature and we'll update the old ones.
Templates have the .idoceo file extension and they'll be automatically recognized as such by your iPad and iDoceo.
Regarding templates that other people create, we'll keep an online database with all of them, and once you tap on 'Add' from the main screen and then 'Add online template'.
You'll be able to browse the available list of templates. It is now almost empty as we need first our users collaboration on this. This is explained in detail here
- If it does match a personal field, select it in the list and your photos we'll be assigned following that criteria.
- If your photos do not match any, and just want to import them in bulk, to drag&drop them later on manually. Select any of those fields.
Now, with the browser on screen (you may select Dropbox/Google Drive or Wifi transfer with the Server button), you must look for the folder holding all your student photos.
Once you have the list of photos on the browser, switch to Multiple files, tap on All and Download.
This will download all your photos into the iPad and will try to match its filenames with your students. Those photos unassigned will appear in a row below the seating plan, and you can simply drag&drop its to their student.
Regards

From any mail, or app (Dropbox,Google drive, etc), that has a template stored in it, 'Open In' iDoceo and it will automatically create a class or bulletin board with its contents.- How to import templates

I think this one is similar to your previous question, if you mean importing classes with a template, tap on the template file from your mail (which may only hold your student names&photos) and it will create a new class.- how to import classes via email
From the seating plan, tap on tools then 'Photos - Bulk import' . It will ask you for the photos filename criteria, if it matches any of the student's personal field.- how to import student photos in bulk

By the way, maybe you'd like to share a template with other fellow Australian teachers.
Let me know what you think of this.
