Importing all data was created by Johnuren
Brand new user.
Can I import all my students vital data? Names, emails, addresses, etc etc. most importantly photos?
What would be the best format to import photos?
I never can get them into a csv file...
I can download all the students vitals including pictures into a PDF. But after that I'm lost!
Also I teach 619 students in 9 sections of Phys Ed
I would love and need the ability to take attendance quickly and have the ability to indicate that they are prepared for class. Can I in the seating plan screen teach the app that one tap means here. Two taps means here and changed. Three taps means away...
This app looks great.
Thanks for the support

Welcome Johnuren,
To import data:
The best way is to use an XLS (Excel file) , the first column should hold the student names, and the next should have the personal data you wish to import.
When importing personal data, the column header must have a specific text, so that the app knows the kind of info it contains. For example , a column header should have its title es !birthday (with an exclamation mark) so that it fills that parameter automatically.
You'll have more details on each field name (!address,!e-mail , and so on) here in this link
Once you have that XLS file, store it in your Dropbox account, then open the Dropbox app, select 'Open In', and look for iDoceo... that should be it!
Importing photos is a bit harder though, you'll have to store them in your iPad's photo Gallery , and then assign them to each student, either from the seating plan or from the gradebook , detailed info here . We'll improve this in our next major update.
About attendance:
You've got several ways to do it. The seating plan will probably faster but it won't let you select your own icons. It must be either present/absent/late, here a small article about it
The gradebook will allow you to select your own icons for attendance, you can configure its from the gear icon , then attendance.
These icons you configure will be available in the Extra quick attendance editor , here a link to the article explaining a bit more about it .
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Regards,

Thank you, looks good. The program is very deep lots of options.
Is it possible for the iPad itself be the attendance taker...?
What I mean is when the student arrives the seating plan is up with photos (which I input), they just tap their photo once to show that they have arrived?
and in my case, maybe a second tap to show that they are not prepared or not changed?
I think I'm in a very different situation...
I run three classes at once in the gym. So we have divided the class into TWO...girls (form three classes) and boys (from three classes).
I have two ipads and am importing just the girls into one iPad and just the boys into another.
So in the interest of speed and efficiency I would lobe them to be responsible for checking in on the iPad with a tap or two.

Hi John,
I've prepared here a quick step by step in images
First, you create the attendance column for today in the seating plan
Your students double tap to show they have arrived At any time, you tap&hold over a student photo , and select Text/Icons
Select your icons meaning they are prepared/not prepared or any other comment
The additional icons will appear next to each photo

I must be missing something obvious. I have follow your tutorial and yes I can add those icons to individuals students.
Is it possible from the seating plan page to add default icons when doing attendance.
I create a quick attendance.
Open that with the class in front of me.
I would like to teach the program to allow one tap for one icon, a second tap for a different icon, third tap for a third icon.
Or at least double taps to scroll through all thereof my options.
Check mark=here
X=away
Unhappy face = not prepared.
I each phys Ed to 619 students.
I need to track these three things very easily. Taps work much better than hold, icon, icon, done...
Very minor things to make my life better!
This program is great, showing my entire staff soon!
