Is there a master calendar, not one per class? was created by English_Teacher
This app is amazing and I'm loving getting to grips with it!
Is there a way to enter meetings/events etc in a master calendar and be reminded of them - or is everything always attached to a teaching group?
Also, I'd like to be able to plan for FREE periods (i.e. jobs that need doing in the time slots between classes) but whenever I press on these periods to enter some text it only offers me the option to 'add class'.
Do I need to make a 'fake' class called 'FREE'?
Thanks

Hi English_Teacher,
In the current version all annotations have to be attached to a teaching group but you may use the events as reminders. They will appear in the diary of all classes at the same time.
More details on this explained here
Additionally, the small reminders lis on the main screen will let you add an alert date. Once you've entered the reminder text, tap on it and you'll see the rest of options to 'Remind me on a day'
In regard to the Free period I'm afraid you'll have to create that fake class. We're working on a better alternative though!

I teach in a high school that follows a block rotation schedule. This means we have "odd" and "even" days (periods 1, 3, 5, 7 and periods 2, 4, 6, 7, respectively). This makes planning challenging, and I've found that though iDoceo has many options for planning, none of them really work for me. I ended up creating a fake class called "Planner" so that I could jot down plans in one place, but this isn't ideal. I use the month view exclusively, so everything else is just superfluous.
I wonder whether it was in the works to have a simple master planner in a subsequent release of iDoceo?
Also, since our odd/even schedule has the colors green/white associated with them at my school, it would be a wonderful feature to be able to fill the cell for green days with a light green background. This would save time and improve the ease of use. Just a thought. This is a very powerful program--invaluable!

The calendar/planner is currently quite complex and chalk full of features (especially 3.1 Beta with its wonderful timeline view). So a class can be linked to multiple periods (necessary for elementary school), but is there a way to link more than one class to a single planner (in high school one might teach several classes of the same course with identical lessons)? This would allow you to access the same agenda information when clicking on the planning tabs for any classes of the same course content. Just wondering.
This app was fantastic to begin with but is getting better and better with each update!

Thanks norman, glad you liked the new timeline.
It isn't possible to link those lessons between classes yet, but we're working on it for our next major update (that is 3.5) . Truth be told, I'm still not sure how that will look like! You should still be able to add specific changes to a class even if their plan is linked... work in progress!
