Column calculations and formula was created by Janinem
Hi,
I am hoping that someone can help me with coding for the following.
I am waiting to be able to do the following.
within section A there are columns (I am going to say column a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h)
I need it to be that if columns a-h are 0 then the total is 0
and
If the columns have a value in them, then we need to add the columns up, x2 add 4.
I hope that it makes sense.

Hi janine!
Sorry for the delay, I missed your post
If you explain with a bit more detail what to do with those values once they appear
I'll prepare the formula

Hi Bert
So basically this is what I want. There are 8 sub columns within the A folder, Lets name them 1,2,3,4,5,6.
- if all the values in each column are 0 then the total needs to be zero. (must not take into account the next formula)
- however if there is a value in each column (the value can only be 1) then we would need to add all the columns up to get a total.
- this total would then need to be multipled by 2 and add 4 - this will give me a total out of 20
I hope this makes sense,
Janine

Hello,
I believe this formula should work for what you want to do. I attach a screenshot of the formula and one of the result in the gradebook.
In your A folder change the calculation to formula and enter your grade over 20 or a total points of 20.
In the formula just replace the HÜ columns (my columns) for your 8 columns and recreate the rest.
Let me know how it does.
