Percentage calculation

Is there a way to simply give a percentage for a single piece of work?

More specifically, if my kids have several pieces of work, all with different total scores, can I create a column next to each raw mark that will give the percentage scores for that piece of work only?

Yes , I think what you need is explained in here .
Skip the first step, and go directly to where it says our second step.
In short, you first have to create a grade type where you specifiy the maximum possible value por that raw mark. Then create a new column that will hold the percentage representing the raw value for any given column.

I read through and worked it out shortly after posting - was more curious whether there was a more simple way that bypassed making a grade type for each conceivable test mark!
