I would like to know if it would be possible to have an IDOCEO application for the MacBook Pro? I love using my iPad version, but I couldn't resist getting the Retina Display version of the MBP for school and work. Now that I have the laptop, my wife and granddaughter have inherited the iPad, so I was wondering...

Thank you,

SuAmigo

Hi SuAmigo, glad to have you back
Sorry to hear about your iPad!
It is in our plans to release an OSX version but moving from a 'touch' interface to a conventional screen poses some UI challenges and it is overall a less gratifying experience , both to use and to develop for...
We'll do it though, our resources are still very limited and it will take some time, but we'll get there!
By the way, when you're able to get your hands on our next update iDoceo 2.0 (should come this weekend), check the audio&photo features! That would be hard to do with an MBP!
Thanks for contacting us

Thank you for your reply!

Maybe I'll go get a lesser expensive iPad just for school, because you're right, it's much more fun to just move everything around on the iPad screen than it is to type everything in, etc.

Have a nice weekend :)

I found out through colleague teachers about iDoceo and can't wait for a version that would be compatible with MBA.
Those using the app are very satisfied. Is there any other app I could use in the meantime?

Hi Yvette,
I'm not up to date on the available apps for Mac, can't really say...
We're still pushing the limits of the iPad version, and at the same time it is getting harder to create a Mac counterpart with all these improvements.
There is a huge update coming in a couple of days and you'll be able to record video, add any kind of file to a cell, and about a hundred other new features. You'll find the list here
Keep in mind that we intend iDoceo to be an ultra-fast/configurable assessment tool to be used mainly in class, while you're teaching. And to allow you to keep track of every aspect of your day to day effortlessly.
With the arrival of the iPad mini, as a 'more mobile' and affordable platform, it is making less sense to use iDoceo on a computer only as a spreadsheet, losing some of its strong points ... but maybe I'm wrong here ... we'll see!

Kind regards

PS: Besides all this , the Mac version is still in our roadmap

I agree with the previous comments from both parties. I have just downloaded the new update and am beginning to find my way around the app and love it already. However, it would be nice to have an application for mac and the two to work together over the cloud so that we can pick up (at home) where we left off (at work). I prefer to use my desktop as it is more practical as I am a student teacher and have a lot of my work stored on my home MacMini and use pen drives whilst at schools.

It would be nice, other than that fantastic app!

Just wondering if there was any movement on the idea of being able to use both the laptop and the iPad to get the job done?

Not really Missy Strong. We're still working on the iPad version, which lacked planner/calendar features until now. The Mac OSX development is on hold as there are some important improvements still pending. Work in progress

I have just started using Idoceo,
It would be great to have this on both my mac and my iPad...

Is it still in the roadmap?

Just would be great to have it on my mac, as I am so much quicker.

Other than that, loving the App
