Working without cellular and wifi was created by JCandela
I am about to purchase an iPad and the main reason is because I've heard wonderful things about idoceo.

I was going to purchase an iPad with only wifi (no cellular connection).

My classroom has a horrible wifi connection and most of the time I am unable to connect.

My questions are:
1) if the idoceo app is installed on my ipad, can I still work in the app without wifi or cellular data?

2) if I am able to work in the idoceo app without wifi or cellular data; the once I have a wifi connection will it sync and update the information I added without the connection.

I hope that makes sense. I don't really want to get the cellular with the iPad unless I absolutely need to because of the cost and monthly fees.

Thank you

Hi JCandela,
You do not need cellullar or wifi to work with iDoceo.

1) if the idoceo app is installed on my ipad, can I still work in the app without wifi or cellular data?

Yes

2) if I am able to work in the idoceo app without wifi or cellular data; the once I have a wifi connection will it sync and update the information I added without the connection.

For privacy and security reasons, all the information in iDoceo is locally stored in the iPad. It is not synced with any server and that's why it does not need any Wifi or cellular connection

[Hi Bert, when I read JCandela's message, I thought instructions for backing up iDoceo might be the answer to his/her question, thus my response below. If any of the info I've given is inaccurate, please correct me. :) )

Hello JCandela,

iDoceo doesn't automatically sync/update when you're connected (whether wifi or cellular network), however backup of your iDoceo data is quick (depending on your connection, of course) and easy.

All you have to do when you want to back up your most recent data is hit the cloud upload button (top left of iDoceo screen) and choose where you want to keep your backups (when you have wifi access). My school's wifi varies from excellent to non-existent, depending on where you are. I usually keep the wifi on my iPad off to save battery time, and then during breaks between classes, I turn on the wifi and back up my iDoceo data to my Dropbox account. Easy-peasy. (If you don't use Dropbox, you can use iCloud or other options.)

The compressed files get a neat and tidy name, which includes the date and time of your backup, so if ever you encounter a problem (or you get a new iPad and want to move your iDoceo data over to it), you can easily recuperate your data. I usually back up iDoceo a couple of times a day, just in case, and then every once in a while, I go into Dropbox and clear out older files.

Enjoy your iPad and iDoceo!
Kathleen L.
