Assigning numeric value to text based grades

Hi. I would like to be able to put text based grades into columns... 15 different ones... A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, E+, E, E-.

Then have each of them be assigned a numeric value so they can be added up and averaged... I want the A+ to represent 15, the A to represent 14, etc. this way I can have text based grades in columns that can be averaged using a percentage... At the moment I have to type in numbers between 1 and 15 into columns instead which is annoying. So if a student gets an A+ and the a B+ I have to write those as 15 and 12 respectfully... I would prefer to be able to put a grade in there and have the column know that that grade represents a particular number. At first I thought I could just assign a number to a bunch of icons... But I would need A+ through to E- in idoceo as icons.

Can anyone help?

Hello twhee6,
iDoceo can average text based grades and work with them in any other calculation. You only have to select the Text grade from 'A to F' on the grade type.
Double tap on header > Grade type and look for the one you need.
From this very same screen you can define your own grades or modify the current ones.
More details explained here

If you work with scores, here is how to convert them into a grade
www.idoceo.net/index.php/en/howto/calcul...ade-based-on-a-score
This same method can work the other way around, a text grade into a score but I recommend to work only with text whenever possible
