[SOLVED] Messed up average was created by MrTorres
Update: I'll leave this here in case anyone else has the same issue.

SOLUTION: This was a mistake on my end. I'm grading on a scale of 0% to 100%, but all my columns were set to "Numeric grade (generic) Max score 100.00" which is obviously the wrong setting for this purpose. After changing everything to the setting "From 0 to 100", the calculations ended up the way I wanted them to.

Good afternoon,

I'm attaching two images that I hope will explain my problem. The first one shows a folder nesting some columns that I have to average my students' final grade:

1. Homework & Participation (10%)
2. Quiz I (5%)
3. Midterm Exam (35%)
4. Quiz II (5%)
5. Final Exam (35%)
6. CAADI (10%)

The folder is set to AVERAGE with different weights as seen in the second image. However, the calculations that are shown in the folder go past the 1,000 score mark, which should max out at 100%. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. There are two columns that have formulas within the folder itself:

1. Homework & Participation: This is located in its own tab, with probably around 20 graded assignments and its formula is set to AVERAGE (with equal weights).

2. CAADI: Also located in its own tab, it contains two folders, both set to AVERAGE with different weights and the CAADI column itself is an AVERAGE (equal weights) of both folders.

I don't know how much more specific I can be, but I can take lots of screenshots if it's needed.
