Can I make a rubric with this? was created by Emilie
Hi Bert!

Here is one of our new multiple mark schemes and I was wondering if it would be possible to put this in a rubric calculation?
I am so confused with it as I don't quite get how the score at the top could be only one number and then how it will affect the mark overall. For example, here an essay is marked out of 40 from 2 criteria /20 and it's in bands covering several marks... can this be done in a rubric? If so what kind of result will I see? Help please!!! Thank you!
Emilie

Hello Emilie,
Yes, you can put this into a rubric. I'll send a couple of samples so that you can choose which one to work with.

This first sample takes only the upper tier points (i.e. 20,16,12,8,4,0) to avoid having 20 columns. You lose the ability of fine tuning marks but it is easier to manage on screen and the reports will be clearer.

The calculation for this rubric is called 'Simple addition'. This just adds the selected value on each rubric row and you will see a score out of 40 in your gradebook. The result can be mixed with other averages and calculations

You can import this rubric into your iDoceo from your iPad, tap on the template > Open in iDoceo

The next post will include the full rubric with 20 columns, one for each possible value (0-20) in your original scheme

Here is the other one.
It works with the same 'Simple addition' but in this case each column takes a different value. You can then assign any value from 20 all the way down to 0.

Hello again,

To avoid clicking on some boxes, i would like to make them 'non clickable'... I've noticed that a few times I kept 'hiding them' by mistake while editing them but now I can't do it anymore...
Is it possible to hide them?
Thank you again!

Sorry to come back to this again.
Now one of my markscheme has 2 criteria - one is /10 and the other /6 so total /16 but obviously I have the two criteria running alongside each others which means that my total is /20 instead of 16.

And I will have the same problem with the following one...

Is there anything I can do to correct this?
Thank you

Emilie

Yes, rubrics configured as 'Simple addition' will let you do that by hiding cells.
A long tap on a cell will toggle its status.
Hide the higher marks unavailable in each row and iDoceo will know the total score of the whole rubric

Thank you! Somehow I had changed it to addition... This is great!
I have my markscheme right under my eyes, at all time, it's all automatic, with the addition of the quick conversion, it's miracle marking... Well nearly!
